Welcome to Hopewell RV Park!

Welcome to Drakesboro! Nestled in the hills of western Kentucky the home of bluegrass music, we are a family owned RV park and campground that was purchased in 2024 and renamed Hopewell RV Park. Whether you are just passing through, here for a family vacation,  a hunting trip or working on contract with a local company, we welcome your stay. We offer long term stays to those who are providing labor at one of our area businesses such as the local TVA Paradise power plant, Logan Aluminum, traveling nurses or utility workers who are under contract.

While in the area, please be sure to check out some of the area’s natural beauty and charm at places such as the Peabody Wildlife Management Area, the historic town of Rochester and the Rochester Dam (be sure to cross the Green River on the Rochester ferry. It’s free, and operates sunrise to sunset.) Visit one of the many music venues and historic areas such as Bill Monroe’s Rosine, Beaver Dam’s amphitheater, downtown Central City’s music district, Everly Brothers highway, Merle Travis Music Center and Drakesboro’s own John Prine Memorial Park.

Our family consists of Carl and Janet, who you will see at the campground frequently, and Molly and John, the kids who help maintain the property and business. We are all happy to meet you and hope to make your stay a pleasant one.

About the Owners

Raised in rural Iowa Carl and Janet met while attending William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa and married after college. Carl has had a love of music, musical theatre and woodworking much of his life and Janet, a former math teacher and multi sport athlete in her younger years, retains her love for football and basketball still. Serving as pastors for over 30 years, Carl and Janet later opened a custom furniture shop, Hopewell Furniture, named after one of the churches they pastored. Upon retiring they spent the next three years as full-time RV travelers one of the most rewarding times of their lives and the inspiration for purchasing and opening an RV campground of their own. Their daughter Molly and son John who live nearby will be there to help them in this new adventure.
